===== Edda ===== ==== TEDdy Talk ==== "Okay, so. Your child is having nightmares, and you don't know what to do. The monsters are coming, and you're scared. First thing to remember is, it's not about you. It's about your child. Second thing is, you need to deal with the source of the nightmares. It's not enough to just fight the monsters each night, that doesn't solve the actual problem. "You'll need to find or make a Dreamcatcher. The frame is simple enough - a hoop with some string woven through it, like a spider web, maybe some decorative ribbons. The catch is, it needs to be personal for your child. Decorate it with things they like, things that are meaningful to them. Then, hang it by their bed. If you got it right, you'll be able to enter their dreams, sort out their fear at the root. Good luck." - Edda, addressing a class of rookie toys. ==== Brothers in Arms ==== "Look, Edda. Quit being such a noble idiot. I'd still be stuck in the Attic, missing a leg if it wasn't for you. Like hell am I letting you go off by yourself in some daft idea of penance. I dunno if Penelope needs to die. You always had the brains of the two of us. No, shut up, I'm not going to say it again - once is enough for your ego. My point is, if you decide she needs to die, I'm right there with you. We can go off under the bed together. If you wanna leave her alive, that's good too. You're not getting rid of me that easy. I'm with you till the end of the line. Yeah, yeah, I love you too, you great self-sacrificing twit." ====Bear Your Heart==== Amanda woke up with a smile. She didn't have any nightmares last night! She grabbed the two teddybears on her bed - one brown, one white - and squeezed them in a big hug. They were her heroes, they chased the nightmares away, she just knew it. She plopped them in pride of place on the bed, one either side of her pillow as guards, before bouncing off to get dressed. Papa looked through the door at the guardian bears with a smile. "She does love those bears, doesn't she. Where do you think they came from?" Daddy came up behind him and slipped a fond arm around him. "No idea. But I don't think she's going to let us take them away - as far as she's concerned, they're magical heroes that came to rescue her from the monsters. And who knows, maybe she's right! I guess they live here now!"
