OOC Announcement: Game Shortening
Unfortunately due to a series of unforeseen circumstances, the NightKnights GM team have decided to cut the game shorter than perviously announced. Instead of the previously stated revision of 10 games, we will be finishing after the coming session, session 7. We apologise for this change coming at such short notice.
Your session 7 turnsheet will be a little different from the turnsheets you have been submitting through the game so far, instead having a daytime action, nighttime action, and an Eternity-style “afterwards” action.
We will be hosting a post game debrief for any and all fun character tales to be told and secrets to be revealed on the 21st of May at the Asian Cultural Center in Cowley.
Any questions or queries regarding this please direct to Anna.
Kind Regards,
The NightKnights GM team
Portal Under The Bed Open Permanently
We would like to offer great thanks to the amazing diplomatic work from Pretty Princess Penelope in getting the Prince of Doors of the Corvid Court to permanently allow access to the realm under the bed during both the day and night. We expect great things to come of this, congratulations Pretty Princess Penelope!
State of the Room
After the night's attacks, there is a relatively small amount of damage to the room.
Each of the playsets now sports a shiny lightning rod - this seems to have deflected any damage to the playsets, though there are some scorch marks on the carpet where the fear elementals came into contact with it, as well as several skid marks from toy vehicles making sharp turns.
Teddy Chair has some scorch marks up one leg, and their upholstery on that leg has been sewn back together from what looks like a rather nasty gash.
In Memoriam
An address by Super Sally
Each one of these announcements I have to give is harder than the last. We are losing too many toys in this war. Last night, another brave toy was Lost. Biscuit fell, under the bed, giving their life to protect Pretty Princess Penelope and Molly. He died heroically, taking the Swamp Man with him into the black waters of the swamp, ending the threat posed by him and his constructs. Please join me in a moment of silence for our fallen.
Playtime
“Daaaad! Where's the Space Saloon gone?”
“What? It's in your room, where it always is!”
“It's not there, I can't find it!”
“I don't know, sorry Jordan, but I don't have time to help you look for it right now.”
Jordan is somewhat upset at playtime, given the mysteriously missing saloon. They hunt for it for several more minutes, peering under the bed (and apparently not noticing the portal), digging through the cupboard, and even tidying clothes off the floor. Eventually they give up, huffily, and choose other toys to play with.
Princess Penelope catches their eye, and they smile. They rummage through her clothes to choose a new dress for her, and happily choose a pink number that she was wearing a couple of days before. Then they look horrified - the dress they chose is the one Penelope was wearing the night of the fire, which got bleached up one side by the flames. “Oh no, Mum's gonna be so mad! You're super expensive, I'm not really supposed to play with you, and now your dress is all faded!”
Panicked, they rummage through the desk drawers, and come out with a pink felt tip pen which is a reasonable colour match for the un-faded parts of the dress. Holding Penelope up to their face, they carefully use the pen to colour in the faded parts. It's hardly a masterful repair job, in fact it's quite obvious, but it looks OK from a distance.
“I guess you're a bit like me now, Penelope,” they say morosely as they're finishing. “A weird outsider. Are the other toys your friends? I hope they are. I hope I can find some friends soon.”
Chewtoy
Playtime is interrupted by a piercing shriek from Kelly, as she yells angrily for Dad. It seems that, while Jordan and Kelly were at school, the dog got into her room and decided to play with one of her new toys. A Pretty Princess Philomena has been shredded into several pieces and thoroughly chewed on, wrecking it beyond repair. Kelly is furious, and the dog has been banished to the conservatory in disgrace.
Dream
Jordan does not wake from a nightmare tonight. Instead, they awake well rested and resolute. They climb up out of bed, and get dressed, like they do every morning, but this time they stop in front of the mirror. They look at themself with determination.
“Hello. My name is Jordan. Would you like to be friends?”
They smile, satisfied, and leave the room for the day, ready to face the challenges ahead.
Room Closures
All the rooms are open today - Dad says he's going to be out to get a 'Special Surprise'…
The dog is in the conservatory, with the door shut, and has been whining at the door. The conservatory is still accessible, but potentially dangerous.
